Ham Photos is a growing archive of photos of Ham (at the meeting of Richmond upon Thames and Kingston upon Thames in south-west London), where I have lived since 1996. It captures the small changes that are easily missed and delights in the unusual, the unexpected and the unnoticed.

Tree cutting
Clearly the trees in Parkleys need cutting back from time to time but it is not good that they completely block the pavement when doing so. It would be better if they used some car parking spaces.

They weren’t there for very long and they need easy access to the trees they are working on otherwise leaves, branches and debris would be all over the road
ReplyDeleteI was only there for a while is the argument all motorists who park badly make and it's never a good one.
DeleteNot a motorist, a resident, they parked there to do their job. Not the same as delivery drivers etc who just pull over and block the pavement.
ReplyDeleteMy position is simple and consistent; parking on pavements is wrong. Yours is complicated and inconsistent; some people (not sure who these are or who gets to decide who they are) are allowed to park for a period of time (not specified). The claim that delivery drivers are not there to do a job for residents is clearly false.
DeleteI think it’s always clear if it’s right or wrong. The tree surgeons had a job to do right there. Whereas the three vans blocking the road by the hand & flower are lazy. Where are your pictures of them?
