I have only lived here for something just over twenty years so I do not know the full history of The Local in Ham Street but it was definitely Ham Village Store previously and I believe that it was Dunkley's before that so the new signage has both the new name and old ones.
It is also a very smart and contemporary sign. I love it.

ReplyDeleteI am 65 years old now and I always went to Dunkley's shop when I was young and I remembered there were two elderly ladies worked there. I often got my sweets there! I was at the primary school [St Andrews School] just near there which is now a Catholic Church. Near there was a Coop shop and a clothes shop. They closed a long time ago.
