Every year part of Church Road is closed to allow the migration of toads from Ham Common Woods to Richmond Park. This year the barriers seem to be more substantial than they have been previously and they are tied together to make them harder to move. Sadly this is necessary as some selfish motorists move them to save themselves just a couple of minutes on their way to Richmond Park.
