Ham Photos is a growing archive of photos of Ham (at the meeting of Richmond upon Thames and Kingston upon Thames in south-west London), where I have lived since 1996. It captures the small changes that are easily missed and delights in the unusual, the unexpected and the unnoticed.

Stuart Road is a bleak boundary
One of the nicest things about Ham is how the various areas that have been developed separately over the years come together to form a coherent whole. Stuart Road, off Woodville Road, is an exception to this. It forms a straight bleak boundary between the Wates Estate on the left, where the roads have names like Bank Willow and Lake Gardens, and the earlier social housing on the right, where we find Murray Road and Neville Road. Here it looks as though the two estates are facing off against each other in a battle for architectural supremacy.
